For example, it explains why Ariel doesn’t write what she wants to say and why Ariel didn’t read her contract with Ursula. Eric appears in the live-action reimagining of the 1989 film. He is portrayed by English actor Jonah Hauer-King. Eric was very much the Romantic he is in the film, searching for his True Love, arranged marriages and politics be damned. Expert Musician: Eric is a highly skilled musician and is capable of playing a flute with admirable skill.A new subplot in the stage musical is a singing competition where the eligible princesses in all the land are invited to sing for Eric. The princesses perform in the song "The Contest", which is set to the tune of Ariel's song "Part of Your World". This book was just fine in the long run. Eric has a curse which I think pairs well with the original but everything that has been added for “more Eric content” just doesn’t make sense. Like I’m sorry that boat scene around the 70-80% mark was ridiculous.
