He was instantly accepted by Lady Tichborne as her son, although other family members did not believe it, and tried to expose him as an impostor. It's a novel about the life of Hereward the Wake/the Watchful, a knight who lived in eleventh century England. And now, as reviewing time runs out, I need to decide which of the remaining two outstanding reviews will get the snappy treatment. Brat Farrar is the lead character of the novel – yes, it is a name, and an almost wilfully terrible one.
Of course a romantic involvement with a character who believes herself to be his sister is not a possibility. Anyway, they’re all pleased to see him and immediately taken in – except for the twin, Simon, who is rather stand-offish and the last to be convinced that Brat is Patrick.
