You could get around this with a little artful filling to flatten off the wall, but I didn’t find this camera’s build quality as confidence inspiring as the Floodlight Cam. Subbscription Footage is stored onboard. Unlike some other floodlight solutions, there’s no monthly subscription. I love the camera, it has amazing quality both day and night. The different colors and patterns you can select are very nice. The ability to move the camera and move the lights independently to different positions is great. The WLC really held up in very cold -40F cold and snow.

On the whole, I’m very impressed with the Eufy S100 Wall Cam. The powerful light panels can blow out details on people’s faces at night but you can turn the light trigger off and capture a clearer monochrome picture using night vision. The 2K footage captured during the day is clear enough to recognize visitors. The built-in camera has a wide-angle lens that covers a 160º field of view and the 2K resolution is clear enough to make faces recognizable and number plates legible. Another key feature is the ability to talk to visitors in real-time by pressing a button on the app. Your voice is emitted via a speaker on the Wall Cam and you can hear a person’s response through the video feed that streams from the Wall Cam to your smartphone. You can also set the device to emit a 105 dB alarm for extra protection. But also, more usefully, I was away from home but got a 'Someone has been spotted' message. I was immediately able to view the live stream from the Wall Cam and saw that a delivery driver was standing by my doorway with a parcel. Because I was on a shoot I wasn’t able to talk to him through the camera’s speaker but I saw him pop the parcel round the side of my house.Because it was about to rain I texted my neighbors and asked them to retrieve the parcel and was delighted when one of them appeared on camera with the parcel safely in their hands. One limitation with Eufy’s products is that they generally don’t support either the ONVIF or RTSP protocols, which would let you integrate them into an existing CCTV setup. That’s the case here – you can’t stream this camera’s output to, say, a NAS drive. Perhaps more frustratingly, the Wired Wall Light also doesn’t work with Eufy’s older HomeBase or HomeBase 2 hubs, both of which offer extra storage space. It is compatible with the HomeBase 3, though.The Eufy S100 Wired Wall Light Cam is designed to replace an existing wall-mounted outdoor light, or go on any wall where you can provide a mains power connection. Our house faces out onto a busy street, which caused frequent false activations in Fast mode. Switching to Smart mode stopped them, but the lights were a little slow to activate at times. It’s a shame there’s no movable shutter over the passive IR sensor to limit the distance over which it’s active, which was the low-tech but effective solution on our old light.

Eufy recommends a mounting height between 1.8-2.0 metres and, if your existing wiring is at a different level, you might not get the ideal results. If you want a more flexible option, the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro may be a better option.
